The Risk Management Institution of Australasia (RMIA) has appointed Scott Ryrie to become its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 7th August 2017.
Mr Ryrie is a widely-respected, highly-successful leader with decades of experience in risk management. His career in the Insurance and Reinsurance industry spans multiple countries, primarily in Australia and most recently in Singapore. He has developed a deep understanding of the sector via a broad range of roles, working across all classes of business as a senior broker account executive, underwriter, manager and CEO. This includes roles with XL Re, Allianz Reinsurance, Guy Carpenter Asia Pacific, Ryrie Consulting and A.M Best Asia Pacific.
In addition to his well-honed technical skills, Mr Ryrie brings superior understanding of strategic planning, budgeting and reporting. He is a motivated, success-oriented committed professional with an extensive network that is testimony to his strong relationship building skills. He is also a noted presenter, speaker and MC having spoken at, and run, numerous major conferences across the Asia Pacific region.

Mr Ryrie will replace Anthony Ventura, who has been Acting CEO for the past three months, in addition to his role as RMIA President & Chairman.
