LOC adds Maritime Civil Engineer to Singapore Team

LOCLOC, a leading global marine and engineering consultancy for the shipping and offshore energy industry, strengthens its marine engineering team in Singapore with the appointment of Ng Chong Soon.

Chong Soon is a registered Professional Engineer in Singapore and a Chartered Engineer (IStructE) having graduated from the National University of Singapore.  He joins LOC with over 28 years’ experience in civil and structural engineering design works in Asia, most recently as Principal Engineer with an established engineering firm.

He has been extensively involved in marine projects in Singapore and around the region where he has worked on a wide variety of maritime structures, facilities and equipment, including quays, docks, jetties, wharfs, jetties and bridges.

He has also provided expert advice and opinion on matters involving building construction works as well as contributing expert evidence in the Singapore Supreme Court.  Chong Soon has a strong track record in assessing and evaluating damages due to design factors.

With LOC, Chong Soon will use his wide expertise to specialise in Fixed Object Damages (FOD), and marine civil/structural engineering design. His focus will be on investigating and quantifying the cause and extent of damages to fixed and floating marine structures, followed by developing and managing cost effective repair solutions.
